Top Midas proposals of 2022

2022 – what a year! As the world returned to the new norm and international borders opened up, the team at Midas Jewellery had the privilege of hearing about hundreds of proposals throughout the year, near and far.

Across all three jewellery stores in Sydney, we had the pleasure of assisting many couples in marking this beautiful milestone in their relationship. Popping the question with our exclusive range of engagement rings, we’ve been honoured to play a significant role in many couples’ stories.

To celebrate the many proposals this year, here is a recap of just some of the proposals we played a part in.

Rochelle and Kevin

Kevin took to the picturesque Sydney Harbour and started the year with a bang by popping the question to his gorgeous partner Rachelle in January.

On a romantic boat ride, Kevin got down on one knee in front of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, proposing with a stunning white gold radiant engagement ring. Add in clear blue skies and sunny weather, and it was the perfect proposal!

Monique and Rami

Creating the most romantic set-up, Rami displayed a breathtaking space to propose to his girlfriend, Monique.
The place was decorated with a string of fairy lights hung over the window with a white carpet accompanied by rose petals, candles and lanterns scattered across the room. Above, a podium of candles and roses in vases surrounded the centrepiece. At the centre of all the gorgeous scenery was a heart-shaped rose sign with ‘will you marry me?’

In addition to the romantic atmosphere, Rami topped the proposal with an extravagant emerald-cut halo design. This whole night has us in awe!

Riri and Peter

Taking their romance to a new height, Peter gave his beautiful partner, Rita, the proposal she deserved on top of the Sydney Tower Eye. Peter took advantage of the stunning view and used the iconic city of Sydney as his backdrop and decorated the space to impress.

Nestled between two tables, white petals and candles were spread across the floor. On one tabletop, there was a bundle of roses; on the other, candles and a sign that said, ‘Marry me, Rita’.

As he went down on one knee, Peter said the four magic words, proposing with a dazzling oval engagement ring from Midas Jewellery Parramatta. How dreamy!

Pat and Sarah

A picnic to remember, Pat popped the big question next to the water at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair. Overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, it was the perfect spot for a picnic turned proposal.

Selecting an elegant oval and halo design from Midas Jewellery Miranda, Pat got down on one knee to ask the all-important question to his wife-to-be, Sarah. Such a beautiful moment!

Stefania and Adhii

Undoubtedly their best holiday yet, Adhii made the most of their Queensland getaway, taking advantage of the beautiful Whitsundays to make the all-important proposal to his partner Stefania.

Getting down to the sand on one knee, Adhii asked Stefania for her hand in marriage during a romantic walk along the beach. Pulling out an exquisite yellow gold and oval diamond design from Midas, this was a truly magical memory!

Lauren and Joel

With the return of international travel, Joel decided overseas was the perfect stage for his proposal. During their Thailand holiday, Joel proposed to Lauren one night at a romantic dinner on the beach.

Proposing with a stunning three-stone engagement ring from Midas, the love of his life couldn’t have been happier. This holiday is certainly one for the books!

Nader and Vanessa

Private, intimate and incredibly romantic – this was the goal for Nader’s proposal to his lovely partner, Vanessa. Taking place in their apartment, Nader created a special spot to pop the big question, using lightbox letters that spell out ‘Marry Me?’.

Dressed in a dashing tuxedo, Nader dressed the room in classic red rose bouquets, petals and candles. Getting down on one knee, he pulled out a dazzling Midas halo design. So romantic!

Shayla and Jett

Like a scene taken straight out of a Hollywood movie, Jett asked his partner the big question in the most magical way. In the city of love, Jett proposed to Shayla over a romantic dinner overlooking the lit-up Eiffel Tower.

Proposing with a breathtaking radiant cut halo design from Midas, it was a spectacular night the couple will cherish closely for the rest of their lives.

Anthony and John

The best birthday present? A proposal! Anthony planned the biggest birthday surprise for his partner and arranged an incredible picnic from Milk and Honey Picnics at Paddington Reservoir Gardens. A picnic rug scattered with rose petals and a table and cushion setup with candles, flowers, champagne and more, it was the most picture-perfect set-up.

Taking John by surprise, Anthony got down on one knee to ask the all-important question with a couple of bands from Midas Jewellery. This is certainly a birthday John will never forget!

Jouliana and Sarmad

A fairy-tale-worthy proposal, Sarmad chose a spot under the Harbour Bridge for his romantic declaration. With the help of My Proposal Co, Sarmad arranged the most glamorous proposal for his gorgeous partner, Jouliana.

Set amongst a park beside the harbour with the city as the backdrop, flowers, petals and candles created an enchanting pathway. Leading up to a neon ‘Will you Marry Me?’ sign, complete with floral arrangements and drapery, Sarmad stood with a large bouquet of roses and a brilliant oval Midas ring. This is a proposal dreams are made of!
