      Top Midas proposals of 2021

A year that once more continued to bring new experiences and unexpected circumstances also saw a lot of love!
Throughout the year, all three Midas Jewellery stores had the pleasure of assisting countless couples in popping the question. We saw a vast selection of proposals using our exclusive engagement rings across Sydney and it warms our hearts. Our team is honoured to have been a part of such a special milestone for so many couples.

To celebrate the relationships that made the most of 2021, we wanted to recap some exciting proposals in which we played a part. Take a look below!

      Ali and AndrewAli and Andrew

One of our first proposals of the year was when Andrew popped the question to his beautiful partner Ali in January.
Taking place in the rural town of Oberon on the skirts of the Greater Blue Mountains region, Andrew proposed to his now-fiancée in the picturesque Mayfield Garden.

A fairy-tale garden that has been breathtakingly designed; this was a fitting background for such a loving memory. What a magical destination they can cherish for the rest of their life!

      Heath and LaurenHeath and Lauren

Not able to go overseas? Not a problem when you live in the iconic Sydney!

Heath made the most out of our beloved harbour city when proposing to his girlfriend earlier this year. Taking place on Shark Island, he took advantage of the post-card worthy Harbour Bridge and CBD, using it as his backdrop for his romantic picnic.

Set on a rock that nestled the water, the couple enjoyed a picnic complete with a blanket, pillows, a grazing platter, champagne and of course, rose petals. Getting down on one knee, Heath used this romantic set-up to his advantage to ask the important question.

      Nancy and DomNancy and Dom

Dom took advantage of another awe-inspiring popular location in Sydney when asking his beautiful bride to be, Nancy, for her hand in marriage.

Held late in the afternoon between golden hour and twilight, Dom transformed the renowned Rotunda on Observatory Hill into a romantic scene. The red carpet was surrounded by red roses, lit candles, petals, heart balloons and large light up letters spelling out ‘Marry Me’, illuminating this grand gesture.

Add in fairy lights, the glow of the harbour in the background and a gorgeous pear-shaped engagement ring with a halo; there is no way this couple will forget this significant turning point in their relationship!

      Yena and BilandYena and Biland

Biland turned an already gorgeous room in a Sydney sandstone building into an even more beautiful setting when he proposed to his partner Yena.

Decking out the room with a red carpet, candles, a stand of roses and a sign that said, ‘Will you marry me?’, the room transformed into an intimate and private location that was perfect for a romantic event like this.

Picking a signature solitaire engagement ring from Midas, Biland popped the question to the beautiful Yena, sealing the deal for their shared life together.

      Natasha and HaydenNatasha and Hayden

Taking place in the remote Blue Mountains region, Hayden and Natasha took their relationship to the next level in the scenic Wentworth Falls.

Sat on a cliff overlooking the mystic gorges of the mountains, Hayden created a secluded picnic for his partner, Natasha, and him to enjoy. Hidden amongst trees decorated in fairy lights sat an exclusive tepee accompanied by a picnic for two.

Surrounded by romantic lanterns, flowers and cushions and a sign that read the big question, Hayden established an incredibly romantic scene that set the mood for the grand proposal.

      Amanda and AlenAmanda and Alen

A proposal straight out of a movie set, Alen proposed to his partner, Amanda, in a captivating scene created by My Proposal Co.

Creating an exclusive bubble, Alen selected the private dining room at the iconic O Bar and Dining for the romantic moment. An aisle made of flowers and candles led up to light letters that illuminated the room, spelling ‘Marry Me’.

High in the sky with the city of Sydney in the background, it would’ve only added to the couple’s cloud nine feeling!

      Sandy and MikySandy and Miky

Romantic and intimate were the main ingredients to Sandy and Miky’s idyllic proposal.

Held in a South Coast hotel overlooking the beach, Miky turned their weekend getaway into a milestone the couple will cherish forever. Taking place within the privacy of their hotel room, rose petals made a trail from the entry, leading up to the bed, which displayed ‘Will You Marry Me?’ in rose petals.

Finished with candles and celebratory champagne, Miky proposed to his now-fiancée with a classic solitaire diamond ring.

      Dominic and ChristieDominic and Christie

Sydney is just full of romantic locations, with Dominic using an exclusive harbourside garden for his luxury proposal to partner Christie.

Set amongst a garden near the Harbour Bridge, Dominic set up a charming arrangement for his big question. The whole setup featured a wooden square arch draped in white material, red roses and floral arrangements, directly underneath sat miniature light up letters that spelled ‘Marry Me’.

With champagne, a red carpet with petals and candles adding to the mood, this moment is undoubtedly one dreams are made of!

What a year! Even though we experienced unchartered territory, it warms our hearts to see love has risen above all challenges, seeing many couples engaged. The Midas family wants to wish all the couples who proposed with a Midas Jewellery design a massive congratulations.
